Position Summary:
The FNTI Housing Training and Technical Assistance Project (FNTI Housing TTA Project) is funded by the United States Department of Justice Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) to support OVC’s Human Trafficking Housing grantees in implementing trauma-informed, person-centered, and voluntary services. This is a grant-funded position. The current grant ends 9/30/2026, and we do anticipate future funding to continue the project. The Training Specialist will primarily be responsible for supporting the FNTI Housing TTA Project and other FNTI projects as needed. This position reports to the Sr. Housing TTA Project Manager. We are seeking 2 Training Specialists at this time, working within a team of 3 Training Specialists. These roles are designed to work collaboratively, with each Training Specialist leading specific projects and in support of all projects.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Develop and coordinate individualized in-person On-Site technical assistance visits and Housing Summits for OVC Human Trafficking Housing Grantees. This includes:
    • Create the strategy, individual plan, logistics, and coordination for each event. 
    • Provide post-visit support, including delivery of additional TA needs. 
    • Solicit and incorporate evaluation feedback into future activities. 
  • Complete Policy and Procedure Reviews with OVC Housing Grantees. Provide written and verbal recommendations to support programs to implement a voluntary, trauma-informed, and person-centered housing program.
  • Develop and coordinate Peer Learning Communities for OVC Human Trafficking Housing grantees.    
  • Develop and coordinate webinars for service providers, including selection of topic, identification of expert consultants, drafting and finalization of training materials, hosting of webinar, and completion of post-webinar follow up.
  • Development and publication of training materials for housing and human trafficking service providers. This includes selection of topic, identification of expert consultants, and drafting and finalization of training materials.
  • Provide individualized and ongoing technical assistance to anti-trafficking service providers on trauma-informed practices, safety planning for client autonomy and choice, and implementing voluntary and strengths-based services.
  • Assist in the development and finalization of official grantee communications as it relates to projects led by the Training Specialists
  • Participate in Housing TTA Project Partner calls, support the consultant group members, and assist in identifying new consultants to support the project.
  • Support OVC grantees in navigating federal housing resources and provide warm handoffs and introductions to local Public Housing Authorities (PHAs), local Continuum of Care (CoCs) and other federally funded programs.
  • Engage FNUSA members in FNTI projects and calls and support topic-specific working groups.
  • Support the development and coordination of the Annual Freedom Network USA Human Trafficking Conference as assigned.
  • Support the coordination and development of external conference presentations.
  • Support various aspects of the Freedom Network Training Institute as needed.

Required Experience and Skills:
  • At least 3 years of experience in direct services within the anti-human trafficking or housing/homelessness (PHAs or CoCs) fields.
  • At least 1 year of experience in providing training and technical assistance.
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in human trafficking, domestic violence, refugee resettlement, sexual assault, housing and homelessness or other related fields.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently, as well as have experience in project planning and individual task management.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Connect, and Zoom Webinar.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to relate to different points of view.
  • Trustworthy with strong integrity.

Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in housing and homelessness programs, including public housing authorities and Continuums of Care.

Work Environment: FNUSA has become a fully remote organization. Employees can choose to work from home or to have FNUSA provide a co-working office space near them.

COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement: Employees will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to attend in-person meetings and events. Accommodations will be granted only where they do not cause undue hardship to the organization.

Essential Physical Requirements:
  • The position requires the ability to work on a computer for all or part of the workday. The person in this position must be able to communicate via phone, video, and email.
  • This position requires working set, core hours, Monday through Friday.
  • This position requires travel at least twice per year via airplane, car, or train, depending on COVID safety guidelines.
  • The position requires the ability to attend events that may encompass all or part of the workday.

Compensation: The salary range is $57,000 to $61,000 depending on experience. Benefits include 100% employer-covered medical, dental, and vision health insurance for employees; a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with a 3% employer match; monthly utility stipend and one-time furniture stipend for remote employees; 120 hours of annual leave and 100 hours of wellness leave (pro-rated for the first year); 11 holidays and a week-long Winter Break at the end of the year.

The final salary offer will be contingent upon an organizational compensation analysis and equity review.
